Like most parents, you have to face the fact that family vacation is not on your teens’ top ten list of “The Kewlest Things To Do”. Thinking of spending the entire week with you and missing their friends just makes them feel bored and moody.
To help you make the most of your family vacation with your teens, try out some of the tips below:
1. Make Sure Your Teens Bring Along Their iPod Nano MP3 Players. If they don’t already have, you may have to buy each of your teens an MP3 player. Teens love to sit, think, listen to their own music. Don’t forget to bring extra batteries.
2. Allow Your Teens to Help with The Planning. The trick here is to get them something specific to do. Let them prepare the grocery list of snacks, make the interactive maps online or in charge of all candid camera shots.
Each teen has their own needs. Let them pack their own special snacks, books, handheld games, MP3 player and handphone into their delsey luggage.
3. Let Them Bring a Friend. Peers are a terrible thing to waste, so if it is in your budget, bring one! You will be amazed by their closeness until they only need a luggage for both persons.
Your teens are not as thorough as you are, so don’t forget to pack extra clothing in a spare kids luggage for them.
Everyone should have the typical emergency supplies including a flashlight, jumper cables, spare tire, flares, bottles of water, shovel and first aid kit.
4. Dedicate One Day to Things They Want to Do. Is there a theme park near where you will be camping? Does the cruise ship have a teen gathering place? If your visiting family in another state, what attractions do they have in that area?
Cancer Patient Who Loves Traveling June 15, 2008
Posted by Gypsy The Virtual Traveler in : Family Holidays , add a commentMy uncle is a frequent traveler. Though he travels alone most of the time, there is at least a family vacation every year.
He is fighting with cancer now, but he has confidence that he will recover soon. Hubby and I have faith that his tumor will shrink if hubby keeps on doing foot reflexology treatment for my uncle. Besides foot reflexology, my uncle is taking Chinese medicine to help killing the tumor.
My uncle wants to be able to travel again once he gets well. He told me that he would travel with his family more often if he were given a chance to get will. I pray that God is healing him.
Seeing my uncle going through the pain caused by cancer, hubby and I have come to realize that no health means no wealth. Taking care of our health is our priority now.
I think I am going to cut down on writing travel and lipovox reviews in future. Writing fewer reviews means I have more sleep.
