What To Prepare When Traveling With Teens

Let’s face it, family vacations is not on your teens‘ top ten list of “The Kewlest Things To Do”. Besides missing their friends, they have to spend the entire week with you. They will get bored, they will get moody, and it will be all your fault.

Here are a few tips to help you make the most of your family vacation, so everyone has an enjoyable time.

1. Purchase a CD Player with Headphones for Your Teen. Teens love to sit, think, listen to their own music and play with different Free Ringtones. Downloaded free ringtones, especially Hip Hop Ringtones or Dance Ringtones is a boredom buster for them, plus it stops the ‘Can we change the radio station?’ conflict you always deal with in car rides. Don’t forget to bring extra batteries.

2. Allow Them to Help with The Planning. The trick here is to get them something specific to do. Examples would be the grocery list of snacks for the car, make the interactive maps online or in charge of all candid camera shots.

3. Let Them Bring a Friend. Peers are a terrible thing to waste, so if it is in your budget, bring one!

4. Dedicate One Day to Things They Want to Do. Is there a theme park near where you will be camping? Does the cruise ship have a teen gathering place? If your visiting family in another state, what attractions do they have in that area?

Top Reasons Why Travelers Plan Their Vacations To Greece On Valentine’s Day

Rhodes, or Rodos, is a walled city on the coast of the island of Rhodes in Greece. Rhodes is a great break from strolling whitewashed villages on the Greek islands, if for some perverse reason you feel as if you need such a break.

The restored medieval architecture of the old wall-shadowed city of Rhodes is an antidote to the brightness of the islands. Make the most of this difference by visiting the Archeological Museum of Rhodes, strangely omitted from most ship tours.

The large collection includes the tombstones of many of the crusading knights of St. John, who once made this island their own. In the huge medieval-style hall that houses these, the light is dim and atmospheric.

A popular cruise ship destination, most off-ship tours include a visit to Lindos in the middle of the island. Lindos is a lovely village, kept that way by government decrees limiting building and assuring that restoration work is in keeping with the atmosphere of the village.

A word on reaching that acropolis: the path up is steep, jagged, and lined with river polished stones, laid out in beautiful patterns of black and white called chochlakia. This style of paving was created in part to make it difficult for pirates to plunder the island.

However dangerous the ascent, the end result is a truly breathtaking view. Peer out over the sea from gaps in the high wall, and then pass the famous trireme carved out of the living rock on your way up to the acropolis. Here stand the lovely Doric pillars of the temple of Athena Lindos which once was the crowning jewel of this island.

Visiting world-famous medieval architecture or archaeological sites is only one of the reasons travelers visit Greece. Here are a few more reasons why you should plan your vacation to Greece and book hotels in Rhodes or Rhodes accommodation.

1. Have fun in the sun on great Greek beaches – bare if you dare.
2. Expand your understanding of Greek culture for educational reasons
3. Explore your Greek family history
4. Get married or enjoy a honeymoon
5. Experience Greek arts including music, dance, and theater
6. Spend time enjoying a sport or hobby in an unusual location

Most people combine more than one reason in a single trip. Whatever your reason for traveling to Greece, this magical country will fulfill your expectations – especially if you spend some time planning your trip and checking out Rhodes hotels.

Tips To Consider When Planning Alaska Cruises For Your Vacations

Alaska cruises can offer some of the most pristine, natural beauty you’ll ever see on your vacations. Beautiful crystal clear inlets of water found no where else in the world.

Icebergs and sheer cliff walls rising thousands of feet into the air. Choosing from among the many Alaska cruises will be easy and fun; making your vacations an exciting and rewarding experience.

Deciding which of many Alaska cruises is right for your vacations.

One thing to decide is when you want to go. Many people favor the month of August because the weather and temperature are favorable to being outdoors.

Another consideration to keep in mind for Alaska cruises and vacations is which direction on the ship you’d like your cabin to face. Inside cabins are less expensive while outside facing cabins offer the convenience of stepping onto your balcony and seeing the many splendid sights.

Dressing warmly and comfortably is another consideration, especially if you’re susceptible to being cold at night.

Also, be sure and bring along a good pair of binoculars to see the sights. Many times your cruise ship will pass by a stunningly close to an immense block of ice; you’ll want to see every detail that up close.
