Mexico fits the bill nicely if you are looking for sun, beach, romance, and bang for the buck for your honeymoon. The key reasons: flights to the major destinations are inexpensive, lots of budget-friendly accommodations to choose from, plus sun, world-famous beaches, and the fact that the Mexican people are gracious and fun-loving hosts.

One of the most popular Mexico destinations for honeymooners is Cabo San Lucas. Cancun and Puerto Vallarta are also preferred by honeymooners.

Most Canadians and Americans on the West Coast choose Cabo San Lucas for its deep-sea fishing, golf, party scene, and proximity. In addition, Cabo San Lucas is very Americanized and offers those uncomfortable with Spanish a chance to experience Mexico with all the comforts of home.

For our honeymoon, we rented a timeshare condominium from a couple who were unable to use their week. The unit came with a partial kitchen (microwave, refrigerator, dishes and utensils), a great view, and a very good rate. We not only saved money, but had better accommodations than the traditional hotel room.

The next time we go to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico we’ll be looking into a Cabo San Lucas vacation rental. Advantage? Seclusion and room to breathe.
