I must admit that my sense of direction is terrible.
If I ever need to drive in future, hubby must install a gps in the car. Otherwise, I will get lost and go in circles.
It’s not exaggerating. I know my strengths and weaknesses.
Perhaps practice makes perfect. But it will take me years of driving experience to improve my sense of direction.
I envy hubby who can remember new routes or directions easily. Even after many years, he can still find his way to an isolated small village or town easily.
As a frequent business traveler, you know it’s time you should get a GPS for your car. There is nothing worse than getting lost with clients or in the dark in an unknown town.
With a GPS for car, you’re never lost on your business trips. The voice navigation of GPS tells you where to turn or provide you with alternative routes to get to a destination. All of this is done through the convenience of voice navigation that allows you to concentrate on driving, not on a LCD screen in a car.
Moreover, a GPS for car can help with efficiently getting you to the right place, which can save your gas consumption. Imagine how much money you would save on your monthly petrol bill by being able to cut down on all the driving around in circles just because you missed a turnoff, or because the instructions somebody gave you over the phone were wrong!

I tested two GPS’s, the Magellan 3100 and the Garmin 350. I liked everything about this Garmin nüvi 350 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator
.
I especially like getting the more frequent warnings as one approaches the turn. The there is always a final warning as one get to the final tenth of a mile before the turn. I also like to hear the street names from this Garmin nüvi 350 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator instead of just turn left or right.
I deliberately took a wrong turn. It recalculated in seconds.
I shopped around this Garmin nüvi 350 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator. The highest was $399 at Best Buy. The lowest was $256 at Amazon where I bought it. Amazon included all the attachments, some stores did not.
At first I was doubting whether I should buy this TomTom ONE 3rd Edition 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Vehicle Navigator or not because I had never heard of TomTom.
This TomTom ONE 3rd Edition 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Vehicle Navigator is pretty sweet. You can hook it up to your computer download new maps or updates. Plus you can share your maps.
So if a road is closed or a new road is now available you can draw it in and share your maps with other TomTom owners. You can also download the speed trap updates. This alerts you when you are coming up to an area with traffic cameras.
I am very satisfied with this purchase. I replaced my Magellan 4040 with this TomTom ONE 3rd Edition 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Vehicle Navigator
. The Magellan had text to speech – wide screen – blue tooth and AAA guides. Cost much more.
In my opinion the inexpensive Tom Tom beats the Magellan hands down, even without text to speech.
Text to speech is a great concept but seems to strain the processor to the point that it would sometimes forget to give you street names or directions. Very bad.
Tom Tom has been rock solid.
TomTom ONE 3rd Edition 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Vehicle Navigator never misses a turn voice command. They are quite detailed as well unlike Magellan. Magellan says “turn right at Blair Street” where Tom Tom says “turn right in 200 feet than make third left”.
Also TomTom ONE 3rd Edition 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Vehicle Navigator guarantees a free download of the latest map for your unit at purchase. Garman and Magellan have very vague policies on that and may charge you for the latest map.
TomTom ONE Portable GPS Vehicle Navigator
is one great GPS! We’ve had Magellans and Garmins, and this is the very best by far.
TomTom ONE Portable GPS Vehicle Navigator picks up the satellites very quickly, even while indoors. I especially like the status bar display, giving you remaining time and distance to destination, current time, arrival time, speed, and direction.
I also like the auto turn-off option when you turn off external power.
Best of all, TomTom ONE Portable GPS Vehicle Navigator’s 3-D maps and directions are phenomenal. And the price is right. No complaints from me!
