Top 5 Must See Shows In Las Vegas February 6, 2008

I found myself staying up late one night just to have a conversation with a good looking bartender. As today turned into tomorrow I ordered my drink and began asking all the questions that would be needed for me to direct you to the best shows in Las Vegas. I figured I would do a little research with her as my subject and this is what she and I came up with.

1. “O”-Cirque Du Soleil, Bellagio Hotel Las Vegas. Personally, I like Mystere, at Treasure Island, much more but the general consensus seems to be that “O” at the Bellagio Hotel is much better. I spent too much time trying to figure out how to hold my breath for 3 minutes underwater to enjoy the show. The performers are extremely talented and you will be impressed. The price tag can be high but the entertainment is up there with the best in Las Vegas.

2. Danny Gans at the Mirage Hotel. Not sure why people love those impressionist but in Las Vegas Danny Gans is King right now and rightfully so. As an entertainer you get a show from Danny Gans that keeps you laughing, entertained and completely amused from the second you sit down until the curtain falls at the end.

3. Penn and Teller at the Rio Las Vegas. More people seem to love this show than I would ever have guessed. It’s a good show but I cannot imagine how many people love the quick witted nature of Penn and the facial expressions of Teller.

The bartender was quick to note that she believed they were pouring stiff drinks in the theater because people seemed to be having a lot more fun after that show than any other in Las Vegas. As Las Vegas shows go Penn and Teller do succeed in keeping you interested for the full 90 plus minutes.

4. Jubilee at Bally’s Hotel Las Vegas. I have only witnessed the topless shows and I am a regular guy who sometimes gets distracted. However, the bartender noted that an equal amount of women enjoyed the show as well. I have experienced the show with my mother and my mother-in-law. Each time I have enjoyed the costumes, the performances and the major set changes. Although, I must admit that watching beautiful women while your mother-in-law sits next to you is not much fun at all.

5. Celine Dion at Caesars Palace Las Vegas. People love her and continue to see Celine Dion at Caesars yet I cannot get into the entire following. I have tried but it does not work for me. The way her mouth moves as if possessed by some unknown being as she belts out tune after tune I can’t handle it.

However, I will trust my research because it seems that Celine Dion has such a following that she can continue to pack them in for years to come. I never said she did not have talent; she just scares me a little.
